Remote work and digital nomadism have long been established as a lifestyle. What used to be reserved for freelancers and the self-employed has long since become possible for those in permanent employment. Millions of people live and work wherever they want to be. This has created a whole new level of competition between countries and regions. Remote workers are a highly interesting target group: they stay longer than tourists, travel mainly in the off-season, and often bring considerable economic potential with them. Goncalo Hall is a pioneer of the remote work movement and develops communities and destinations for remote workers and digital nomads. He advises governments around the world.
